Operation Ivy were the defining band of the late-80s Berkeley punk scene, launching from Gilman Street and helping ignite the third-wave ska-punk movement. Their sole album Energy (1989) remains a landmark record, and their skanking Guy mascot became one of punk's most enduring icons.
Op Ivy's influence stretched far beyond their two-year run — Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman went on to found Rancid, while the band's sound shaped countless acts from Less Than Jake to Sublime. "Unity", "Knowledge" and "Take Warning" keep the fanbase alive and passionate decades on.
Fits perfectly on guitar cases, skateboards, laptops, water bottles, bedroom walls, van bumpers and band gear.
