The Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird was produced from 1996 to 2007 and was named after the SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft — the fastest plane ever built. It displaced the ZZ-R1100 as the world's fastest production motorcycle and remained a benchmark sport tourer for a decade, with its 1137cc inline-four producing 153bhp in a comfortable, capable package.
Production spanned two main generations, with the fuel-injected model arriving for 1999 and running to the end of the line in 2007. The Blackbird developed a loyal following for its combination of superbike performance and long-distance touring ability that few bikes have matched before or since.
