The Triumph Tiger 1050 was introduced in 2007 as a successor to the Tiger 955i, using a new 1050cc triple-cylinder engine producing 115hp that gave the Tiger a more dynamic performance character than the previous generation. The 1050cc parallel-triple engine — shared with the Speed Triple in different state of tune — became one of the defining engines in Triumph's modern lineup, valued for its combination of low-end torque, mid-range flexibility and high-revving top end.
The Tiger 1050's distinctive claw-mark graphics — a sweeping tiger claw design that runs across the fairing panels — became immediately associated with the model and helped establish the Tiger 1050's visual identity within the adventure motorcycle market. The model occupied the middleground between the BMW R1200GS and lighter adventure bikes, offering Triumph styling and British-flavoured triple-cylinder performance.
The Tiger 1050 was produced through to 2012, when it was replaced by the Tiger 1050 Sport, with updates including a Sport suspension mode and revised electronics. Tiger 1050 owners continue to maintain a loyal community around the model's unique character — the triple's sound and the original claw-mark aesthetic remain defining features of this generation of Tiger.
