The BMW GS Adventure is the long-range, heavier-equipped variant of the GS series — BMW Motorrad's adventure touring motorcycle range that has defined the adventure motorcycling category globally since the original R80 G/S appeared in 1980. Where the standard GS is calibrated for a balance of road and off-road use, the Adventure variant adds larger fuel tanks for extended range, more comprehensive luggage systems and additional chassis protection for serious long-distance travel.
The current R1250 GS Adventure, powered by BMW's 1254cc ShiftCam Boxer twin producing 136hp, carries a massive 30-litre fuel tank (compared to 20 litres on the standard R1250 GS), giving a theoretical range of over 500km on a single fill. The model has been used extensively on round-the-world journeys — the GS and GS Adventure are the most commonly chosen motorcycles for global circumnavigation and overland expedition travel.
BMW Motorrad's Rallye, Exclusive and Triple Black colour schemes for the GS Adventure all use the model-specific GS Adventure badging alongside the main BMW Motorrad wordmark. The model competes with the Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports, KTM 1290 Super Adventure and Ducati Multistrada V4 in the premium adventure touring segment.
Fits perfectly on R1250 GS Adventure, F850 GS Adventure, F750 GS and all BMW Motorrad GS Adventure accessories.
