Buell's XB12S Lightning was one of the most distinctive American naked bikes ever built — a perimeter-frame, underslung-exhaust streetfighter that earned a devoted following among riders who wanted something genuinely different from Japanese or European alternatives.

The XB12S ran from 2003 through to Buell's closure in 2009, and the aftermarket community around these machines remains active today.
