Formed in Santa Cruz, California in 1983, Camper Van Beethoven blended indie rock, folk, ska and psychedelia into a sound that defined the American alternative underground. Fronted by David Lowery, they became campus-radio icons and laid the groundwork for the alt-rock explosion of the 1990s.
Their discography spans Telephone Free Landslide Victory, II & III, Camper Van Beethoven Is Dead. Long Live Camper Van Beethoven, and the celebrated Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart — plus Lowery's later project Cracker keeping that irreverent spirit alive. Tracks like Take the Skinheads Bowling and their cover of Pictures of Matchstick Men remain college-rock touchstones.
Fits perfectly on guitar cases, laptops, record sleeves, water bottles, bedroom walls and band-gear cases.
