Inu (犬) were a trailblazing Japanese punk rock band from Nagoya, formed in 1979 and led by the charismatic vocalist Machizo Machida. Their 1981 debut album Meshi Kuuna! is regarded as one of the defining records of the Japanese punk underground, blending raw aggression with a distinctly Japanese sensibility.
Despite their short active period, Inu left a lasting influence on Japanese alternative and indie music, inspiring generations of artists across punk, post-punk and noise rock. Their name — meaning "dog" in Japanese — and bold typographic logo remain instantly recognisable to fans of Japanese underground music worldwide.
Fits perfectly on guitar cases, amplifiers, record sleeves, laptop lids, notebooks, water bottles and bedroom walls.
