The de Havilland Aircraft Company was founded by Geoffrey de Havilland in 1920 at Stag Lane Aerodrome, north London, following his earlier work at the Royal Aircraft Factory at Farnborough. The company went on to produce some of the most significant aircraft in British aviation history across both commercial and military applications.
The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito — a twin-engined, largely wooden aircraft built for speed rather than defensive armament — became one of the most versatile and successful combat aircraft of the Second World War, serving as a bomber, reconnaissance aircraft, nightfighter and pathfinder. The de Havilland Comet of 1949 was the world's first commercial jet airliner. The de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver became the definitive bush plane of post-war Canada and remains operational worldwide today. The name was later absorbed into Hawker Siddeley and subsequently BAe and BAE Systems, but the de Havilland heritage remains enormously significant in aviation history.
Fits perfectly on model aircraft boxes, vehicle windows, aviation accessories, tool boxes and general display uses.
